Superintendent/Grants and Compliance Coordinator Supervisor
To facilitate community and parent involvement through educational sessions and extracurricular events. Collaborate with families and community partners, including the Boys & Girls Club, to engage the community in strategies and activities focused on growth, promotion of healthy lifestyle choices, and increased cultural knowledge. Empower families to be active participants in the school.
Assignment
Flexible hours for 12 months, as needed to accomplish tasks of the program – includes after-school/evening hours and two Saturdays/month.
Performance Responsibilities
1. Work closely with building principals, teachers, parents/guardians regarding individual student's participation in school, academic, work, and extracurricular activities. Advocate for the individual needs of students and their families.
2. Coordinate all aspects of after-school hours (including summer activities) grant activities, such as family fun nights, Saturday Night Live, and after-school physical fitness and wellness programs.
3. Work closely with district staff and Boys and Girls Club staff, including the Director of Student Affairs & Activities, Indian Education Director, AIPAC, etc., to implement programming.
4. Keep necessary records and assist Grants & Compliance Coordinator in completing reports and program evaluations.
5. Develop activities to engage families and the community to support student growth and engagement in after-school and summer school programming.
6. Arrange publicity to inform parents and the community of scheduled activities and events.
7. Recruit community volunteers, businesses, and organizations to assist with events.
8. Develop a school parent/community group to support 21st Century Learning Community activities.
9. Recruit and train youth event workers.
10. Ensure background checks are completed for all grant-funded contractors and volunteers.
11. Attend recommended training related to the grant.
Supervision of Other Employees
This position supervises volunteers and those hired to provide programming activities.
Qualifications
1. Associate's Degree required.
2. Knowledge and experience working with diverse cultures, preferably American Indian student populations.
3. Experience in effective interactions with students and families in various situations.
4. Ability to effectively collaborate as a team member in a school environment.
5. Ability to present information in one-on-one or small group situations.
6. Ability to write correspondence, create flyers, and reports.
7. Ability to communicate orally.
8. Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the performance of duties, including all other school staff, parents, and stakeholders.
9. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
10. Ability to travel and hold a valid Minnesota Driver's License.
Must complete the necessary application process and pass a criminal background check and drug screening test.
