Job Title: Core Maker
Location: Waukesha, WI
Reports To: Core and Molding Supervisor
Part I - Position Purpose
The Core Maker operates a variety of equipment using air set no-bake sand and shell sand to shape sand cores for molds, prepares finished cores, while maintaining clean and functional core boxes. Responsibilities include inspecting and assembling cores, reporting production data, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards. This role supports a safe and efficient work environment while performing other assigned tasks as needed.
Part II – Job Functions
- Responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by following all safety and environmental rules and regulations.
- Shape sand cores used in molds, using air-set sand mixer, shell core blower and isocure machine.
- Remove cores from core boxes and place them into storage boxes or onto racks for transportation to molding area.
- Select the appropriate core box from work order and set-up the machine, making all necessary operation adjustments.
- Keep core boxes clean and report excessive wear or damage to supervisor
- Clea, repair and assemble finished cores per work instructions.
- Report production quantities and times for each work order using ERP system.
- Responsible for ensuring that quality systems function effectively, and products meet customer requirements.
Part III – Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in same or similar role.
- Familiarity with metal casting processes and foundry work.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity, as the position involves standing, bending, and lifting heavy objects; ability to push/pull up to 50lbs
- Knowledge of safety practices related to foundry work.
