Job Overview:
The Boxing and Packaging Operator in a manufacturing environment is responsible for efficiently boxing finished products for shipment or storage. The Boxer Packaging Person will work closely with production and quality control teams to ensure that products meet quality standards and packaging specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Packaging Operations
- Properly box products according to packaging specifications and requirements.
- Ensure that boxes are securely packed, preventing damage during transportation.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for packaging, labeling, and sealing boxes.
- Handle packaging equipment such as box sealing machines, tape dispensers, and label printers.
Quality Control:
- Inspect products before packaging to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Identify and report any defective or damaged products to the quality control team.
- Ensure that packaging is clean and free of defects.
Labeling & Documentation:
- Attach correct labels to each package, ensuring that all information is clear and accurate.
- Maintain proper documentation for inventory tracking, shipments, and production reports.
Safety and Cleanliness:
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to prevent accidents and improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to safety, quality, and production.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with production staff to meet deadlines and ensure packaging aligns with production schedules.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to resolve any packaging issues.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor packaging supplies and report shortages to management.
- Assist in organizing and storing packed products in the warehouse or shipping area.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or packaging role is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift moderate weights (up to [specify weight, e.g., 50 lbs]).
- Basic math skills for counting and measuring packaging materials.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, bend, and move boxes in various sizes.
