SUMMARY: The primary purpose of the Human Resources/Payroll role is to lead the human resources department in accordance with current applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines. This ensures quality personnel are hired, trained, and employed.

- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the HR department.
- Process bi-weekly payroll for personnel.
- Review requests from department directors for new or replacement personnel, fill requests as approved, and arrange interviews.
- Maintain an adequate personnel record filing system that meets facility needs and complies with current employment practices.
- Evaluate hiring/discharge procedures for compliance with established policies.
- Conduct employee background checks according to facility procedures.
- Orient new personnel to facility policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Counsel/discipline personnel as necessary.
- Conduct exit interviews and maintain employee records.
- Foster a good employee relations program serving the best interest of the facility and community.
- Schedule mandatory training sessions for staff (OSHA, HIPAA, Compliance etc.).
- Maintain confidentiality of all employee information.
- Ensure newly hired employees receive a copy of facility residents' rights.
- Report any known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of confidential information.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration preferred but not required.
- A thorough knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines concerning personnel administration in nursing care facilities.
- Payroll experience required.
- Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Capacity to cope with mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
