Houseman (Housekeeping) – Kauai
The full-time houseman position will be responsible for assisting the housekeepers by performing various duties in condominium units, particularly upon guest departure. This position also includes window-washing, screen-washing, and wiping ceiling fan blade functions.
Details:
- Location: South Kauai, Hawaii
- Education/Experience Required: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. On-the-job training provided
- Salary range: $22.00-$24.00/hour
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Strip all linen from condo unit, such as mattress pads, sheets, blankets, pillow cases, and sofa bed linen.
- Remove towels and cloths from bathrooms and kitchen, where applicable.
- Remove trash and recyclables.
- Transport dirty linen and terries to laundry and sort.
- Follow safety procedures and programs at all times.
- Clean windows (interior and exterior), including glass louvers, where applicable.
- Clean window screens, ledges, and door tracks.
- Wipe and clean ceiling fan blades.
- Assist with cleaning glass top tables and mirrors.
- Communicate with housekeeping and front desk teams on status of rooms, work orders and repairs.
- Communicate with the housekeeping supervisor on needs and concerns.
- Assist the housekeeping department with laundry, as needed.
- Sweep common areas outside of unit doors.
- Assist with minor groundskeeping functions, straightening of lanai furniture.
- Other tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Requires driver’s license and valid insurance.
- Requires own, reliable vehicle.
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of hotel or condominium resort housekeeping experience or an equivalent amount of experience in related areas preferred. Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
