Hunlock Creek Energy Center (“Hunlock”) is a 169 MW natural gas-fired power plant located in Hunlock Creek, Pennsylvania. Hunlock is strategically located in PJM with access to Marcellus natural gas supply. The plant uses two independently dispatchable assets: a 125 MW combined cycle gas turbine and a 44 MW combustion turbine.
Our Hunlock Creek Plant is looking to hire an Operator responsible for starting, stopping, adjusting, and monitoring plant equipment, as well as performing maintenance tasks as directed by Operator A or the Shift Supervisor. This is a union position with a rotating 12-hour shift schedule. Ideal candidates must be flexible and willing to work overtime when needed to cover vacancies on other shifts.
Responsibilities:
Our Hunlock Creek Plant is looking to hire an Operator responsible for starting, stopping, adjusting, and monitoring plant equipment, as well as performing maintenance tasks as directed by Operator A or the Shift Supervisor. Responsibilities:
- Perform plant operational duties in accordance with approved operating procedures and best practices. This includes starting, stopping, adjusting, and monitoring plant equipment, while working in a safe manner.
- Schedule operations personnel and assign daily tasks as required.
- Use approved chemicals as needed to make and monitor the quality of demineralized water for use in plant processes. Perform chemical analysis for steam, cooling water, and condensate water systems and properly log results.
- Perform or assist with maintenance tasks as directed, such as preventive maintenance and corrective actions.
- Complete assigned safety, first aid, equipment operation, and plant operations training
- Perform tasks related to housekeeping and maintaining plant security.
- High school graduate or equivalent with trade school, military service or other technical training. Additional professional training preferred.
- 5 years of maintenance experience in power generating facilities or process plants with equipment operating experience or equivalent. Combined cycle Power Plant experience is strongly preferred.
- Must possess basic math skills, good verbal communications skills, be proficient with the use of power and precision tools and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of chemistry, physics, electricity, and mathematics.
- Must adhere to and ensure strict compliance with all safety procedures.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, climb vertical access ladders and stairwells. Must demonstrate the ability to observe, hear, walk and communicate effectively.
- Overtime is required to support plant operation supervision.
