Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to oversee our bar operations and ensure a high-quality experience for our guests. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for the food and beverage industry, and a commitment to maintaining exceptional service standards. As the Bar Manager, you will be responsible for managing staff, optimizing bar performance, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Duties
- Staffing: Hiring/terminating, leadership, training, scheduling staff (FOH only), handling employee issues, taking notes on staff performance, and keeping staff up to date on any changes or new things coming.
- Inventory: Managing inventory levels, ordering supplies, liquor order, and tracking waste/use.
- Finances: Payroll, tracking expenses and maintaining all aspects of store management.
- Food Safety: Ensure employees are following food handling and health code procedures (using gloves etc).
- Workflow efficiency: Identifying new tools and processes to increase business/ run operation smoother.
- Event Planning/ Private Parties: Offering ideas for events, following up with potential leads and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Customer Service: Problem solving, walking floor during hours of operation ensuring customer satisfaction, and listening to customer feedback.
- Menu Handling: Keeping up to date on specials, offering ideas,and updating monthly cocktails, and seasonal drinks/ specials (holidays), keeping up with the made up holidays (national burger day, tequila day etc).
- Decorations: keeping up to date with holidays and seasons.
- MISC: food comps (employees and customers), tracking call offs, tracking reservations when scheduling/staffing appropriately per event, making cuts (staff), and overall making sure everything runs as smooth as POSSIBLE
Experience
- Proven experience in a bar management role or similar position within the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary standards.
- Experience with shift management in a fast-paced environment, particularly in quick service or fast food restaurants.
- Demonstrated ability in team management and staff training initiatives.
- Familiarity with POS systems and their effective use in bar operations.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
