Position Overview
C.A.T. Global is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Intermodal Operations Coordinator to support our Operations team and growth efforts. This role is crucial for a positive customer experience, maintaining profitability goals, expanding capacity and service offerings, and executing at a high level of pace and professionalism. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in Intermodal Operations, with a strong focus on both domestic and international freight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Experience: Proficient knowledge and experience handling Domestic and International Intermodal containers to support the Director of Operations while fostering a high-performance culture that aligns with C.A.T. Global’s business goals.
- Revenue & Profit Growth: Support department strategies to drive growth, including profitability by maintaining appropriate personnel costs and adhering to department KPI’s to maintain freight cost profiles and minimize accessorial costs.
- Capacity Procurement & Market Expansion: Source sufficient driver, equipment and rail capacity to adequately support existing and new customers.
- Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to foster a best in industry customer experience and foster organic growth. In addition, support Sales with customer QBR’s and problem solving.
- TMS & Process Engagement: Be proficient in Mastermind and provide insights for process improvement, where possible. Embrace automation and maximize Operations efficiency.
- Operations Strategy: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement comprehensive organization structures and Operations strategies that align with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Reporting & Analysis: Monitor and analyze key metrics, preparing regular reports for senior management to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including marketing, operations, sales and finance, to ensure seamless execution of strategies and customer satisfaction. Provide modal expertise where needed.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Intermodal, preferably in the brokerage industry.
- Proven track record of driving operational excellence and managing high-performing teams.
- Strong understanding of the Intermodal industry, including market trends and customer needs.
- Proficiency in TMS systems, with a strong focus on leveraging data for operations insights and process optimization.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with customers, carriers and support the team. Approx 30% travel requirement, at times potentially more or less
