The Frac Shop Trainee is responsible for learning and working under/alongside the direct mentorship of an assigned Senior Service Technician.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, clean and inspect assemblies on/ around frac trailers / industrial equipment alongside senior technicians.
  • Work with technician to test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments. 
  • Gain knowledge to apply general failure analysis and procedures to determine proper diagnosis. 
  • Perform engine and component rebuild and repairs with limited supervision. 
  • Assist a Senior Technician in completing assigned jobs and task to meet flat rate times and re-do metric.  
  • Assist a Senior Technician in completing related paperwork and access databases required to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.  
  • Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with supervision from a Senior Shop Technician.  

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment. 
  • Willingness to accept instruction and guidance from a Senior Service Technician. 
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Team-oriented mentality. 
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training. 
  • Successfully complete Work steps assessment.
  • Ability to certify for operating a forklift and/or manlift.
  • May be required to complete DOT physical.
  • May require MSHA certification.

The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 

Required travel up to 5%.
