JOB SUMMARY
As a Dive Shop Clerk, you are responsible for assisting guests with renting and returning activity equipment, conducting safety briefings for each activity, maintaining and cleaning all equipment, and offering guests information about notable locations to visit.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Job duties include, although are not limited to:
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are well maintained and in sufficient supply
- Answer incoming calls and provide guests with information about rental policies, rates, and key areas of interest to visit
- Wash and dry all kayak, snorkel, and dive equipment daily upon each return
- Assist in performing monthly inventory counts of retail and rental products
- Ensure land and sea activities safety procedures are always adhered to
- Address and resolve guest problems and complaints, while keeping management informed
- Fill Station Operator Certification for filling scuba cylinders with compressed gas.
- Maintain, wash, change tube tires and grease the mountain bikes
- Other duties as assigned
DETAILS
Position Type: Seasonal
Season Dates: May- Mid October
PAY TRANSPARENCY
The pay scale for this position ranges between $18.00-$18.50 per hour.
The total compensation package is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience and education or training.
SCHEDULE
This position requires a flexible schedule with shifts that consist of a rotating schedule of weekday and weekends shifts, including day, night, and holiday work hours.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Obtain a Fill Station Operator Certification within 30 days of employment
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Experience in a fast-paced environment
- Preferred knowledge of dive industry
WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Our workplace is clean, lighted and ventilated with proper safety compliance. Noise levels are considered medium and daily physical activities are considered moderate. Employees must have the stamina to work long hours if assigned. Hours and days of work may vary by position. Most work tasks are performed indoors and outdoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Also, you must be physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period of time. This position requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.
