JOB SUMMARY
As a General Store Clerk, you are responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while performing cashier duties, adhering to cash handling policies, stocking product, maintaining cleanliness of the store, and providing accurate information about the island to guests.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Job duties include, although are not limited to:
- Clean and restocking the store
- Operate a Point of Sale system accurately
- Cash handling and running a register
- Provide warm and personable customer service
- Open and Close duties of the store
- Organization and inventory of all products
- Monitor and interpret inventory levels to assist with ordering
- Break down boxes, use compactor, and clean back of house
- Take orders via phone
- Food handling with ice cream station
- Ice production and inventory
- Other duties as assigned
DETAILS
Position Type: Seasonal
Season Dates: May- October
PAY TRANSPARENCY
The pay scale for this position ranges between $18.00-18.50 per hour.
The total compensation package is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience and education or training.
SCHEDULE
This position requires a flexible schedule with shifts that consist of a rotating schedule of weekday and weekends shifts, including day, night, and holiday work hours.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years old
- California Food Handlers Certificate required
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to be well organized
- Motivated to complete projects in a timely manner
- Ability to add/subtract and provide mathematical cash handling
- Organized with an attention to detail
- Ability to follow directions
WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Our workplace is clean, lighted and ventilated with proper safety compliance. Noise levels are considered medium and daily physical activities are considered moderate. Employees must have the stamina to work long hours if assigned. Hours and days of work may vary by position. Most work tasks are performed indoors and outdoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Must be physically able to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment. Up to 50 lbs. Also, you must be physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period of time. This position requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.
