What are the responsibilities and job description for the Console Operator position at Catalyst Handling Resources Llc?
The Console Operator ensures the inert entry technician and stand-by personnel are continuously supplied with the correct pressure clean breathing air while in N2 or other IDLH environments and ensure the correct set up of the system, including air hoses and connectors. Follow all CHR procedures.
- Self-managing and competent within role to complete all tasks with no supervision, uses skills and knowledge to monitor environment, technicians and equipment, assessing risks and issues and working pro-actively with Foreman and Top side supervisor
- Responsible for checking all supplied breathing air for air quality
- Responsible to runs checks prior to allowing Catalyst Technician to enter reactor and instructs Catalyst Technician to exit the vessel if there are any issues with air supply or any other emergencies
- Communicates any issues and recommends solutions with Top side Supervisor and Foreman, implements solutions as agreed
- Good communicator with client
- Competent at interpreting video feed and instructing video actions
Required Qualifications:
- Fit for Work
- TWIC card
- Good background (DISA and other agencies checked backgrounds)
- Current negative hair follicle test
- Has completed inert entry theory course
- Trained and experienced in inert entries in various types of reactors for min. two years as Catalyst Handling Technician Level 2
- Completed and passed CHR LSU/Console training
- First Aid / CPR Certificate
- Driver License
- All refinery required courses and certificates
- Inert entry technicians certificate (Min. theory)
Preferred:
- High Angle rescue
- Basic rigging
- Driver license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in English, spoken and written
- Knowledge of reactors and internals
- CHR and client Confined space and inert entry procedures
- CHRs Life Support Unit, Clam Shell Helmet and breathing air setup SOIs
- Gas testing of bottles

Required Experience:
5 years in catalyst handling roles, preferably 2 years as inert entrant and 2 years as Top Side Supervisor
