A public Healthcare Facility in Flint, MI is in need of a temporary RN/OBRA Specialist
Monday-Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm
Temporary with an end date in December or January
Under the direction of the OBRA Supervisor; performs professional functions required to complete evaluation of senior citizens in a manner consistent with OBRA requirements; provides consultation to nursing home staff for purpose of skill development; performs related work as required.
Statement of Tasks:
- Conducts in-service training and consultation to nursing home staff/community
- Performs face to face interviews with nursing home residents, staff/community
- Conducts record reviews for purpose of completing the second half o the OBRA Level II Screen regarding physical/medical needs
- Engages in community activities with agencies providing service for the elderly
- Meets with OBRA staff for program planning and evaluation of OBRA services provided
May Be Required To:
Conduct case conferences with nursing home personnel and/or residents;
Conduct individual, group, family, milieu, and/or activity therapy
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the needs of the aging citizens;
- Ability to provide education and consultation services to area nursing homes staff and residents;
- Ability to provide development and training for nursing home staff;
- Ability to conduct interviews with nursing home residents;
- Working knowledge of geriatrics
Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in the State of Michigan
One year of clinical experience with mentally ill adults or elderly clients
