2nd Shift Powder Lead

Job Purpose
The Powder Lead is responsible for producing high quality powder products in the powder packaging department by following specifications listed in the work order, supporting the packaging line and delegating tasks when applicable.
Essential Duties
- Lead production team through mentoring and motivating team members, ensuring group and individual productivity.
- Produce the scheduled quantity of units daily.
- Perform and/or assist with investigations related to safety, quality, and operational performance,
- Use the MRP system deacom to input production, locate material for production use in staging areas.
- Responsible for line start up and shut down of the production line.
- Conduct changeovers and wash and sanitization of production lines with the team to ensure the line is ready and able to start up in a timely manner.
- Review the schedule for planning the week as well as verification of proper material and components is ready for production.
- Enable effective communication between the production team and management.
- Observe safety and security procedures. Maintain a safe, clean work area and report any potentially unsafe conditions. Use equipment and materials properly and train others ensuring they work safely,
- Ensure that all production staff follow good manufacturing processes and safety practices.
- Follow GMPs, and Safety standards.
- Ensure that staff follow standard operating procedures.
- Ensure full adherence to 6S (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safe) practices at all times
- Help to ensure production targets are achieved, including monitoring staffing, waste, and productivity.
- Ensure product is in compliance with work orders.
- Inspect finished product to ensure there is a high standard of quality.
- Be accountable for the general operation and efficiencies of production operations.
- Follow and direct company regulations.
- Train employees of the various equipment used in the packaging line.
- Willing to work overtime as necessary.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma /GED or equivalent work experience is preferred.
- Prioritization and time management skills.
- 2 years of leadership experience is preferred.
- Working quickly without compromising quality.
- In a food facility or facility that follows cGMP practices is preferred but not required.
Key Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
- Knowledge and compliance of cGMP guidelines
- Computer skills such as word, excel, outlook or email, Deacom (MRP system).
- Ability to communicate thoroughly with peers and management.
