The Designer works independently and is responsible for increased sales of product and services through the development and presentation of space planning, design, systems and freestanding furniture specifications of increasing complexity. Working closely with our client teams to interpret needs and provide the highest level of customer satisfaction. The role requires the individual to be accountable for their time management in support of attaining set budget and financial goals while performing services based on Catalyst Workplace Activation's service matrix. The position is expected to be a contributing and effective team member through actively participating in project and team meetings, and as a positive team member with all Catalyst personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning and Design
- Proficient use of AutoCAD, CAP, CET and 3D rendering software to provide appropriate design solutions. Proficient use of PowerPoint and / or Publisher to present design solutions.
- Provide technical skills in the planning and design of various workplace environments.
- Conduct surveys, site verifications, inventories and other services related to obtaining accurate information to analyze client / project needs.
- Provide accurate and timely drawings and specifications.
- Provide technical assistance for installation.
- Maintain current knowledge of developments and trends in the contract furniture industry with related products, applications, design concepts, work styles, ADA, ergonomics and uniform building codes.

NCIDQ, LEED accredited and certified preferred.
Equipment Used
Computer including dealer business operating system and design software, plotter, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements

The physical environment is consistent with most professional service organizations. Daily work is performed in an office environment and / or remotely. Other environments may include client sites. Non-standard business hours may include weekends and minimal out-of-town travel for trainings or industry events.
