Defense and Aerospace company supporting Department of Defense (DOD) programs. The organization focuses on providing critical subcontracting and procurement services for modernization and facilitation programs.

Job Description

The Sr. Subcontracts Administrator will manage the full lifecycle of subcontracts for Defense-related programs. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with government regulations while maintaining effective relationships with subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in soliciting, negotiating, awarding, administering, and closing out subcontracts. They will collaborate closely with engineering, program management, contracts, and planning departments to support complex programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and issue Requests for Information (RFI), Proposals (RFPs), and Quotations (RFQs) to potential subcontractors
  • Evaluate responses, conduct source selection, and negotiate terms and conditions
  • Draft, review, and negotiate subcontract agreements ensuring compliance with FAR / DFAR regulations
  • Administer subcontracts, including modifications and ensuring timely delivery and performance
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with subcontracts
  • Maintain accurate subcontract files and prepare management reports
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for subcontracting practices

Required Experience / Skills

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in subcontract administration or supply chain management
  • Proven experience with FAR / DFAR and government contracting
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
  • Nice-to-Haves

  • Master's degree or professional certification (CPSM, CPCM)
  • Experience in defense or aerospace industry modernization programs
  • Leadership experience in training and team development
  • Education

    Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
