What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health Informaticist / Health Informatics / Full Time position at Catawba Valley Health System?
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary of Performance Expectations:
Assists with the development and on-going support of patient care information systems; to include implementation, and/or upgrades to hardware and software, statistical information, and other projects as assigned. The Health Informaticist leverages both informatics and clinical knowledge to provide innovative solutions utilizing best practices, workflow standardization and user-design principles to create and maintain clinical system solutions. The Health Informaticist participates/leads multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals as well as operational leadership to meet objectives and drive toward clinical transformation initiatives while maintain system accuracy and integrity. Is responsible for directly supporting providers and other clinical end-users in all EHR care settings.
Education And Credentials:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in a health care discipline (i.e. RN, OT, PT). Current NC license to practice in respective healthcare field if applicable.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in informatics or health care discipline preferred. Certification in Informatics desired. Project Management training and experience.
Work Experience:
Required:
Three years experience with MEDITECH advanced clinical modules in a health care discipline or clinical informatics experience. May consider two year’s experience with an extensive IT and project management background. Given training and on-the-job experience incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
Preferred:
Experience with report writer applications such as NPR, RD, Crystal, and SQL. Proficient in MicroSoft applications. Four or more years working in clinical informatics providing a leadership role implementing and supporting health care clinical systems. Demonstrated experience managing multiple simultaneous projects involving cross-functional teams.
