Summary:
Establishes and implements the department schedule. Ensures that schedule is accomplished in a coordinated, efficient, and fiducially acceptable manner. Assigns staff to cases to ensure that safe care is provided, ensuring that legal and regulatory compliance are maintained. Utilizes independent judgment to evaluate possible courses of action when making decision. Has authority to formulate, affect, interpret, and implement operating practices related to scheduling. Carries out major assignments. Performs work and makes decisions that substantially affect Surgical Services financial operations. Assists in holding staff accountable to their respective performance expectations.
Required Education:
Incumbent must possess a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BSN). Incumbent must also be currently licensed as RN in North Carolina. BCLS certification. If the BCLS certification is not from the American Heart Association (AHA), an AHA certification is required within three months of employment date. For Day Surgery, ACLS and PALS within six months of employment date.
Required Work Experience:
At least one year of nursing experience in department of specialty. Given training and on-the-job experience incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
