What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Control Specialist position at Catelli Brothers Family of Foods?
The Inventory Control Specialist will perform a variety of duties for the company. They will be responsible for controlling product movement from multiple locations to ensure ample supply of stock is on hand to cover all customer orders. They will work closely with shipping and transportation in the coordination of such, the position will also be required to adjust the inventory critical quantity levels as needed along with ensuring proper product rotation. Some purchasing duties will be required. This role reports to the COO. The role back up is the production manager.
Description
Strategically manage inventory in compliance with company’s policies and vision
Oversee inventory and keep detailed records of any changes in inventory
Ensure all products are rotated properly (FIFO)
Compile reports and/or data and presented to manager or supervisor
Oversee and evaluate stock rotation procedures
Some purchasing required
WHS reconciliation to ensure accurate inventory between multiple locations
Conduct cycle count inventory processes to ensure accuracy and timely execution
Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed
Liaises with clients, suppliers and transport companies Ability to work in a cold environment
All other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Proven work experience as an inventory control specialist
Expertise in inventory procedures and best practices
Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
Hands-on experience with warehouse software and databases
Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrate leadership experience with a high-functioning, fast-paced team
Strong attention to detail and ability to work quickly while maintaining a high priority to the safety of our workforce
Education/Training:
High school diploma/Some college preferred
3 years’ experience in inventory control or related field
Good knowledge of Microsoft word/excel
Excellent math skills
Related Experience/Requirements:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in food production or food warehouse environment preferred
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Job requires workers to lift up to 60 lbs. must be able to: step, climb, balance, squat, kneel, bend and reach above shoulders as needed. Work in a cold refrigerated environment
