What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Catelli Brothers Family of Foods?
Basic Purpose- The Staff Accountant role will help ensure the financial records are accurate and in accordance with GAAP. This role reports directly to the Assistant Controller. The backup for this role is the Assistant Controller.
Description-
Serves as a support to the day-to-day responsibilities of the Assistant Controller & Controller
Assist in maintaining the general ledger and accounting records
Processing, verifying, and reporting financial data as needed
Participates and supports audits to ensure financial details are accurate
Review and analysis of General Ledger accounts for accuracy
Provide Individual Account Spend Analysis Reporting for Management
Reviews bank statements and daily composites on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
Cross train as a back-up or assist in all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
Assessing internal procedures to recommend improvements
Meeting all reporting and processing deadlines
Meet financial accounting objectives
All other tasks assigned
Education / Training
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year University, equivalent work experience.
Must read and write English
Related Experience/Requirements
1-3 years of experience in Financial Accounting or similar position
Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Advanced Microsoft Excel
Excellent computer skills including accounting systems or ERP software
Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work
Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
Ability to work in a highly confidential environment
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform the following physical activities: sitting or standing, balance, squat, kneel, bend and reach above shoulders if needed.
