Description Caterpillar is currently seeking candidates for a Fleet Manager position in Job Site Solutions. This role will be responsible for executing Caterpillar led long term service agreements by fulfilling customer contractual commitments in a profitable manner. These commitments include deliverables in equipment management, production optimization, safety, sustainability, and financial performance. This role will work directly with customers, dealers, and Caterpillar partners to successfully deliver these commitments. The Fleet Manager is responsible for managing the customer, Caterpillar and dealer partnership, assuring strong relations and profitable results. Job Duties • Lead customer engagements and provide cross functional leadership in a matrixed organization for contract execution • Manage maintenance and repair agreements in partnership with Caterpillar dealers • Analyze data to deliver production optimization recommendations to customers • Deliver executive fleet performance summaries to customer and dealer executive teams • Partner with Dealer personnel to direct the day-to-day activity related to contractual commitments at each site • Successfully deliver on all areas of contractual commitments utilizing Caterpillar and Dealer Capabilities. • Provide a clear vision for contract success and drive high levels of execution to achieve our commitments through deep subject matter expertise in equipment management, production optimization, safety, sustainability and financial structuring. • Create and apply solutions to problems in a customer-working environment. • Work with Caterpillar Product Groups and other internal Business Units to understand the technical and operational capabilities of our equipment, technology, and services. • Create new and innovative value-added capabilities to improve site operations in a manner that mitigates risk and can grow profitability. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or international equivalent preferably in engineering, marketing or business OR equivalent work experience (8-10 years) • 5 years of progressively responsible job-related experience in utilizing, managing, engineering, manufacturing or marketing heavy equipment. • 3 years direct field experience supporting heavy equipment fleets as a manufacturer, dealer representative or equipment owner Top Candidates will also have • Working knowledge of heavy equipment, technology products, telematics, financial products, product support, labor relations, safety, and environment operations. • Superior relationship building skills and the ability to execute through a team of Caterpillar, Dealer, and Customer personnel • Superior communication skills – both written and verbal – that range from operational and technical discussions to Dealer Principal and Executive presentations • Demonstrated deep subject matter expertise and experience in the management of equipment fleets or direct responsibility for maintenance & repair contract management. • Deep product knowledge, application experience with equipment and production technologies, and the ability to successfully manage contracts to profitability. • Field experience working with/for Cat Dealers or customers Additional Information The location for this position is Peoria, IL, Tucson, AZ, Dallas, TX, Houston, TX, Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL, Nashville, TX, Miami, FL Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.
