Job Purpose:
The Materials Clerk maintains a clean and organized warehouse while meeting the demands of their customer, the shop floor.
Responsibilities:
1) Maintain clean and organized inventory, WIP and receiving areas.
2) Acknowledge and complete assigned tasks from production departments.
3) Assist production technicians with requests for parts to be pulled from stock.
4) Pull and issue parts from inventory to jobs.
5) Pre-check incoming supplier shipments for accuracy.
6) Inspect and verify that all parts are in good condition prior to receiving.
7) Make sure all parts are received in the computer software provided.
8) Put away received parts to correct inventory location.
9) Put away job materials to correct job bin and create new bins as needed.
10) Tag and store all parts received under the job number for each project.
11) Pull all necessary line items and print packing slips for outgoing sales orders.
12) Research inventory or job discrepancies when they occur.
13) Process job return materials to return to stock or supplier for credit.
14) Empty trash and recycle containers into dumpsters as needed.
15) Conduct weekly cycle counts.
Measurements:
· Accurate inventory levels and counts maintained
· Accurate Put-Away of materials
· Production tasks acknowledged and completed
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· 1 year prior experience preferred
Soft Skills:
· Organizational Skills
· Time management
· Multi-tasking abilities
· Communication skills both written and verbal
· Troubleshooting
Hard Skills:
· Basic computer skills
· Ability to execute inventory transactions in a standard ERP
· Organizational skills and telephone communication skills required
· Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
· Forklift experience a plus
Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as standing, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, and handling of materials
