The Laser Print Operator operates the printing machinery ensuring Cathedral Corporation provides quality services by completing all work orders on schedule and accurately while following all standard operating procedures and quality standards are obtained.
NOTE: Must pass pre-employment drug testing and criminal background screening.
Job Description
Operates and controls laser printer to produce print jobs ensuring Cathedral Corporation provides quality services by completing all work orders on schedule and accurately, while following all standard operating procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain a clean and neat work area.
Operate machine according to instructions and in a safe manner.
Upon receipt of work order from Customer Service Account Manager:
- Examine customer specifications to determine processing requirements.
- Load appropriate paper in drawer/s.
- Print sample to make sure that the alignment of data is correct.
- Inspect output carefully ensuring the following:
(a) Correct stock.
(b) Correct form.
(c) No defects such as ink smudging.
(d) Bar code is neat and 2D scanning marks are clear.
- Check for correct positioning in envelope being used.
- Fan through each stack of paper that is removed.
- Stack output in 1000 pieces per stack for folding machine.
- Label each stack with work order number / file number, job name, and sequence number.
- Check that the total number of pieces printed is correct.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one with other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
