Cathiard Vineyard Cellar Team Member
We are seeking qualified candidates to join our cellar team in the beautiful Napa Valley.
About Us
Located at the base of the Mayacamas Mountain range in the St. Helena AVA, Cathiard Vineyard is home to over 58 acres of Bordeaux varietals, innovative processing technology, and a sprawling wine cave and working area.
The winery is French owned and operated by the proprietors of Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte, with an international team of employees dedicated to assisting and teaching you about the intricate process of producing high quality wines.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Rackings and transfers of juice and wine
- Inoculations/additions to juice and wine
- Pumpover/punch down of red ferments
- Operating crush equipment and presses
- Draining and pressing of tanks, including shoveling pomace
- Sanitation and cleaning processes
- Forklift Operation
Qualifications
- No previous experience is required, but it is a plus
- Candidates must have strong communication skills
- Must be able to work long hours, up to 6 days a week, with shifts often exceeding 10 hours throughout the harvest season
- Must be able to work from the beginning of August to December, with opportunities to begin in July for qualified candidates
- Experience with forklift operations is a plus, with certification training provided
- Must have a valid driver's license
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Standing on uneven surfaces inside and outside
- Walking on uneven surfaces inside and outside
- Standing, squatting, stooping, bending at waist and legs
- Ability to lift and move 60 lbs
- Using hands, fingers, reaching, touching, seeing, hearing, smelling
- Winery operations: exposed to occasional noisy equipment, indoor and outdoor conditions
