PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Provide direct mental health clinical assessments and treatment to individuals experiencing a high level of mental health needs. Work with others in a shelter environment to help individuals move toward recovery. Services will consist of individual therapy, group therapy and case management with a range of trauma-informed interventions. Responsibilities also include developing treatment plans and related documentation and collaboration with community partners. Provide direct mental health clinical assessments and treatment to individuals with mental illness. Work with others in a clinical team environment to help individuals move toward recovery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obtains information about participants through use of interview, case history and observational techniques.
- Conducts counseling or therapeutic treatments, in either individual or group sessions as appropriate, to assist participants in gaining insight into personal problems, define goals, and plan actions reflecting interests, abilities, and needs and to discuss progress towards achieving goals.
- Acts as an advocate for participants and/or participant systems when appropriate.
- Develop treatment plans, monitor treatment progress and follow-up at disposition times.
- Identify and provide clinical services to those experiencing comorbidity with mental/behavioral health and or substance use.
- Assist participants with psychological and social development.
- Performs appropriate case management based upon accepted standards and program policies.
- Documents participant contacts and progress in accordance with accepted charting standards.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with referral sources and community agents.
- Participates in clinical supervision, consultation and staff training as required.
- Supports, promotes, and adheres to Catholic Charities’ vision, mission, values and Code of Ethics.
- Uses creativity and innovation in program development and service delivery.
- Maintains confidentiality of participant and agency information.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two years’ experience in clinical social work or related field. Experience with working with moderate to severe and persistently mentally ill populations. Master's Degree in social work, psychology, or similar field. Master's Degree in social work, psychology, or similar field. Ability to become licensed within 2 years of hire. Candidates who have passed their licensure exam and are receiving or needing supervision or who are receiving or needing supervision to work towards eligibility for examination and can be licensed in less than 24 more will be considered for this position. Catholic Charities may provide supervision for those candidates that are working towards licensure.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
$63K-$68 Shift Monday-Friday 8A-5P
