Job Summary: Working under the supervision of the Director of Institutional Funding and Donor Relations, the Institutional Giving Specialist will be an integral part of the institutional funding team. She or he will manage a portion of Catholic Charities’ current funding relationships with institutional partners. In close collaboration with the Director, she or he will also work to build out the current corporate giving program to support Catholic Charities’ programs for New Yorkers in need.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Foundations Portfolio
- Manage a portion of the Institutional Funding team’s portfolio that consists of major foundations.
- Directly implement all pipeline touchpoints for these foundations, including funder meetings, LOIs, interim reports, final reports, renewal proposals, and stewardship events.
- Responsible for administrative tasks related to portfolio management, including working to ensure that all deadlines and partnership touchpoints, including internal review deadlines, are posted in the Institutional Funding’s grants management system.
- Coordinate major grant management with program and finance staff to review upcoming deadlines, discuss funding needs, ensure that grants funds are spent down, and otherwise assist in coordinating the grant management cycle.
- Assist with donor stewardship, including event planning, invitations, written outreach, and other communication with funders.
- Conduct weekly research and outreach to Institutional Funding prospects.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Corporate Portfolio
- Conduct research and outreach to create new corporate partnerships.
- In conjunction with the Volunteer Division, work to steward corporate partners through volunteer opportunities.
- Lead the expansion of a corporate matching gift and employee giving program.
- In conjunction with the Director, implement new and creative corporate cultivation and stewardship, including large-scale opportunities for partners’ employee engagement.
- Responsible for creation and management of portfolio materials, including corporate partnership decks and presentations.
- Manage virtual walk-a-thon platform for corporate partnership engagement.
- Manage a portion of grants related to corporate giving, including LOIs, proposals, interim and final reports.
Salary range: $55,000.00 to $65,000.00 a year or $30 to $35 an hour.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- BA or BS, minimum requirement.
- 1-3 years of related work experience in grant writing, fundraising, or a similar field.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically.
- Previous experience with writing grants a plus.
- Strong time management skills. Ability to remain calm while working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Extremely detailed-oriented.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Passion to promote the work of Catholic Charities in serving New Yorkers in need.
- Good-natured team member with an enthusiasm for growth.
