Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland is seeking an experienced, communicative and compassionate therapist for our Lorain County office located in Elyria. The idea candidate will be skilled in providing mental health and substance use outpatient therapy to adults, adolescents and children.
Program Statement:
Catholic Charities’ Outpatient Mental Health Program is hiring an experienced, communicative and compassionate individual to serve as a therapist for our Elyria office in Lorain County. The program offers creative treatment and prevention programs that enhance the strengths of Lorain County families while treating each individual with professionalism and respect. We are a faith-based organization that provides professional services without regard to a person’s personal belief system and are certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. We provide comprehensive clinical assessments for mental health and/or substance abuse.
Responsibilities:
- Apply evidence-based practices to help those we serve to achieve positive outcomes.
- Meet/exceed all productivity and notes/clinical documentation requirements (and other professional and operating standards) as defined by our organization, licensing, and accrediting bodies.
- Foster a supportive environment by developing therapeutic relationships with those we serve and strong professional relationships with our colleagues and leadership.
Requirements:
- Combination of education and experience normally represented by a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology.
- Must have LSW/LPC, or MFT
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR, as needed per program requirements.
- Must have knowledge and utilization of community resources depending on clients served.
- Must be able to form good working and therapeutic relationships.
- Must have competent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to effectively and productively work with people of very diverse economic, cultural and administrative backgrounds.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, depending on program.
- Must be knowledgeable and responsive to cultural diversity issues presented in the coordination of services.
- Must have competent organizational skills, strong detail orientation and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must be able to work independently from general instructions.
- Must have good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software.
- If providing transportation services, must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License, provide copy of driver’s license and are subject to a Moving Vehicle Report (MVR) check through the Department of Motor Vehicles annually. Any MVR grade of “unacceptable” is not permitted to operate a vehicle on behalf of Catholic Charities.
- If transporting clients, must provide proof of auto insurance including effective dates of coverage and maintain minimum liability insurance coverage of $100,000 per individual and $300,000 per occurrence for driving personal vehicle.
- Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.
