Family Worker
Hours : 25 Hours per week (Monday - Friday 1 : 00pm - 6 : 00pm) (Summer Hours 10 : 00am - 3 : 00pm)
Location : Passaic, NJ
JOB SUMMARY :
Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator he / she will assist coordinate the services offered to youth between the ages of 9 to 17. Program participants are referred by local school officials, families or custodial parent, and other community organizations. Services include : one on one tutoring, behavior modification, individual guidance and support, group guidance, home visits, school visits, and referrals in-house or to other community organizations for additional support and counseling.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
l . Carries out the service plan CFCS-HIC and referring agency have developed identifying service needs, goals and objective. (Tutoring, anger management, gang involvement, conflict resolution,
- Document progress of participant and provides the information to the supervisor on a monthly basis.
- Accompanies supervisor on home visits to meet with parents to discuss program goals and objectives; and to offer agency's services if needed.
- Conducts trainings and workshops on behavior modification skill sets.
- Assists participants in developing social skills, and motivates participants to be responsible toward themselves and society,
- Work as part of a team with other program staff in the planning and development of recreational activities, workshops, and presentations.
- Maintain files, progress notes, and attendance sheets.
- Supervise participants, and implements program rules and policies.
- Provides transportation services to youth to various locations, and home using agency vehicle.
- Attend all related meetings, trainings, and other duties as assigned.
- Responsible for other duties that may be assigned from time to time to support the effective and efficient operation of Catholic Charities.
