Position: Long-Term Care Ombudsman Coordinator
Salary: $34.56 per hour
Catholic Charities is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator for the Long-Term Care (LTC) Ombudsman Program in the Stanislaus (Modesto) office. Program Coordinators primary function is resident advocacy. The LTC Coordinator shall work to empower residents to maintain dignity, and to enable them to assert their civil rights, including resolution of residents’ complaints.
Responsibilities include:
· Act as liaison between the Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman (OSLTCO), the local California Long-Term Care Ombudsman (LTCOP), and the Area Agency on Aging (AAA).
· Implements and monitors program contracts.
· Supervise the activities of all Ombudsman representatives within jurisdiction of PSA-30
· Recruitment, screening, hiring, and training program staff and volunteers.
· Reviews, monitors and evaluates program budgets and plans for implementation and execution of budgets; assures the preparation of funding grants and proposals.
· Complete all required training within the LTC Ombudsman Program (state and local)
· Attend mandatory meetings (state and local).
Qualifications:
Required:
· Experience in management or leadership of community programs/organizations.
· Knowledge of gerontology and aging programs.
· Knowledge and experience in the field of LTC.
· Experience in management and supervision of volunteer program.
· Knowledge of laws and regulations governing LTC facilities.
· Be free from real or perceived conflicts of interest.
· Applicant(s) will not have been employed with a long-term care facility within one year of applying for the LTC Ombudsman Coordinator position.
· Willing to complete the Ombudsman Certification training required by the Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman.
Desired:
· Experience working with budgets and contracts, certified as an Ombudsman.
· Interest and commitment to services to older persons.
· Ability to work nights and weekends.
