Overview
Catholic Charities of Buffalo is hiring a Case Manager for our Immigration & Refugee Assistance Program (IRAP) to work directly with Ukrainian immigrants. The Case Manager will be responsible for outreach, intake, assessment, and referral services for clients who are in the US due to the war in Ukraine and seeking support and guidance regarding life in the US.
The Case Manager will assist newly arrived/arriving Ukrainians in accessing services such as legal assistance, school enrollment for their children, English as a Second Language classes, employment, and healthcare support. The ideal candidate must be highly organized, empathetic, compassionate, and eager to help vulnerable and often traumatized families.
As the first point of contact for many Ukrainian clients, the Case Manager will play a crucial role in establishing trust, assessing needs, and identifying available resources.
Catholic Charities is a non-profit organization that offers an array of programs that strive to empower individuals, children, and families. Catholic Charities of Buffalo, NY, is the most comprehensive human service provider serving the eight counties of Western New York with dozens of programs at 40 professionally staffed locations. Our programs include comprehensive counseling services for all ages, basic emergency assistance including operating 8 food pantries, mental health services, chemical dependency treatment, educational and job readiness services, services to older adults, marriage counseling, immigration and refugee assistance, and a variety of programs that address prevention and treatment of a number of family issues. Essential Functions

Provide comprehensive case management, information, and case assistance services, service coordination, referrals, and advocacy related to benefits, entitlements, housing, and employment.

Develop and consistently update program resources and referral network.

Provide support and resources for clients; inclusive but not limited to government resources, internal services including emergency cash assistance and community resources.

Advocating and raising community awareness of challenges and needs facing newly arrived/arriving Ukrainian families.

Assist with program outreach and communication.

Develop timely responses and interventions for clients and conduct ongoing evaluations and follow-up.

Maintain timely and comprehensive records. Maintain accurate data and report statistical reporting on a regular basis and as needed in this evolving Ukrainian relocation situation.

Attend "The Refugee Partnership" (TRP) collaborative meetings (case management specific) and any required meetings with NY State Office of Temporary Disability Assistance. Meetings are typically virtual.

Complies with the Agency's Compliance Program, Code of Ethics, laws, regulations, and ethical standards applicable to your job duties.

Adheres to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations including, but not limited to those governing confidentiality, privacy, program, billing and documentation standards. All duties must be performed in accordance with CCB's corporate compliance and ethics program.

Minimum Qualifications:

BA/BS or associate's degree with 2 years relevant experience or secondary education from an educational institution outside of the US, plus 3 years relevant experience.

Bilingual Ukrainian /English

Must be able to work in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural setting.

Able to function as part of a team working with employment counselors, English as a Second Language (ESL) instructors and interpreters/translators.

Must possess a valid NYS Driver's License and reliable transportation due to job requirements.

Must be reliable and flexible. Evening and weekend availability required. Position will include occasional evening and weekend hours based on programmatic needs.

Excellent interpersonal skills with clients and colleagues. Exceptional ability to communicate with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

Experience with Person-Centered Trauma-Informed Care.
