Clinical Support Specialist Principal Accountabilities
- Facilitates and/or co-facilitates psycho-educational, therapy, process, and experiential groups.
- Administers urinalysis and breathalyzer tests to residents as scheduled.
- Provides medication monitoring and related documentation; dispenses medications to residents and accurately records; assists the medical case manager with checking in medications and creating Medication Administration Records.
- Documents for each resident in End of Shift Summaries and individualized Daily Notes observations of residents’ attitudes toward treatment and recovery.
- Assists the Primary Counselors with tasks as assigned.
- Performs informal counseling with residents as needed and documents appropriately.
- Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC) or Substance Abuse Counselor-In Training (SAC-IT) eligible, or other credential with a specialized knowledge and training in mental health and substance use disorders, granted by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services. Minimum of either Certified Recovery Coach or Certified Peer Support Specialist credential.
- Familiarity with co-occurring disorders, i.e., mental health substance abuse disorders, and general recovery principles.
- Demonstrated skills in active listening and supportive counseling.
- Clear understanding of boundaries related to personal recovery, 12-step self-help, and professional treatment.
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
- Positive and professional verbal and written communication skills.
