Position Summary:
The Development Director is a critical leadership position responsible for driving comprehensive fundraising strategies, enhancing donor engagement, and leading our strategic shift towards digital innovation. Collaborating closely with the Director of Communication and Development, the Development Director will ensure consistent and cohesive messaging across all platforms. This role is pivotal in expanding our donor base, increasing revenue, and fostering strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fundraising Strategy Development: Create and implement comprehensive fundraising plans that align with the organization’s mission and strategic goals, incorporating both traditional and innovative methods.
- Campaign Management: Coordinate and execute key fundraising campaigns, including Giving Tuesday, Annual Appeal, and new targeted fundraising events.
- Donor Engagement and Cultivation: Develop and maintain strong relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations, implementing strategies to retain existing donors and attract new ones.
- Collaboration and Partnerships: Work collaboratively with the Diocese, community partners, and other key stakeholders to enhance fundraising.
- Digital and Innovative Fundraising: Leverage digital platforms and new fundraising technologies to engage donors and expand reach, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Reporting and Evaluation: Track fundraising metrics and donor engagement data, providing regular updates and assessments to refine strategies and achieve targets.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional Experience: Experience in fundraising or development, with a proven track record of successful campaign management and donor engagement.
- Digital Proficiency: Strong understanding and experience with Microsoft 365, donor management and digital fundraising platforms, and online campaign strategies.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Analytical and Strategic Thinking: Proficiency in analyzing data and trends to inform strategic decisions and measure the effectiveness of campaigns.

Additional Requirements:

· Travel: The position involves limited travel between offices and within Southwest Kansas, especially for in-person fundraising events and donor meetings.
