What are the responsibilities and job description for the SENIOR MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATE position at Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago?
Essential Functions

- 1. Responsible for the interior and exterior maintenance and cleaning of assigned building(s) with 100 or more units in order to provide a clean and safe work environment;
- 2. Performs daily cleaning duties, including but not limited to : sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning walls, windows, restrooms, emptying and cleaning trash containers, when needed;
- 3. Works on projects that include, but not limited to : burnishing floors, stripping and waxing floors, and carpet cleaning when necessary and contingent upon the need of property;
- 4. Handles work orders in a timely, efficient, and safe manner;
- 5. Ensures that all rooms and / or main areas are clean and ready for daily use, meetings, or special events by arranging tables and chairs;
- 6. Prepares vacant rental units by cleaning, preparing and painting the unit to ensure it is ready to be occupied, as needed;
- 7. Assists with the seasonal maintenance of the premises, including : snow and ice removal, spreading of salt when needed on all pavements, and the maintenance and groundskeeping of all landscape areas;
8. Responsible for coaching, supervising, training, and professional development of staff,
10. Responsible for handling and / or coordinating services to resolve any maintenance-related emergencies, as needed.

X Kneel and move from sitting, bending, kneeling or standing multiple times a day.
X Push and pull objects up to 10 pounds.
X Climb up and down up to 4 flights of stairs at a time.
X Lift up to 10 pounds.
X Additional Requirements : Job duties may need to be performed outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to reach in all directions and climb a ladder, when needed.

Relevant Education :
Preferred : High School
Minimum : GED
Relevant Experience :
Preferred : 3 years of janitorial or facilities-related experience and 3 years supervisory experience
Minimum : 1-2 years of janitorial or facilities-related experience and 1-2 years supervisory experience
