Job Summary:
To review maintenance repair projects; to develop scope of work for projects; and to estimate labor and material costs for projects.
Candidates must complete an on-line application which requires appropriate Arizona certification, valid IVP Arizona fingerprint clearance card, evidence of highly qualified status, three letters of recommendation, and transcript of credits.
Key Responsibilities:

- Review of maintenance repair projects and work orders; estimate labor and material costs
- Recommend priority for repair projects
- Develop scope of work for projects and bids; coordinate and supervise outside contractors on repair projects
- Inspect and make recommendations on various roof systems throughout the district
- Prepare written correspondence according to Structural Tech Lead directive
- Review absence reports and approve vacation requests for assigned personnel
- Work in the field and fill in for trade vacancies as needed
- Regular and on-time attendance required
- Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
Required Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications. Verification of these required qualifications is necessary.
Education:
- High School education or equivalent
Experience:
- Valid, or ability to obtain, Arizona driver’s license
- Minimum five years’ experience as Journey Carpenter
Preferred Qualifications:
It is preferred that the applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.
Experience:
- Knowledge of city, state and federal building codes
- Broad carpentry, painting, roofing and locksmith experience; high mechanical aptitude preferred; good work history

- Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, etc)
- Ability to prepare documents, work orders, etc
