Housing Intake Specialist

WAGE RANGE: $22.50 - $26.30 / Hourly
JOB SUMMARY: Catholic Charities is seeking a compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally aware individual to join Catholic Charities as a Housing Intake Specialist at Evergreen Residences in Minneapolis.
This role works closely with Property Management to ensure vacancies are filled. Ensures that applications and residential processes are accurate. Schedules and coordinates orientations. Assists with move-in and move-outs to facilitate timeliness.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Works with Coordinated Entry to obtain referrals for all vacant units.
2. Make appointments and show apartments.
3. Assists applicants with the application process by explaining all applicable forms. Ensures applications are accurate and complete and verifies applicant eligibility.
4. Conducts criminal background checks for applicants. Notifies rejected applicants immediately in writing.
5. Submits completed applications to property manager for approval.
6. Prepares all tenant files to include all required paperwork.
7. Inspects vacancies before move-in and schedules and conducts orientation for all new move-ins.
8. Assists with move-in and move-out procedures including unit inspections.
9. Completes recertifications as required by the program.
10. Enters client information into a variety of databases in accordance with the program requirements.
11. Ensures accurate reporting.
12. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum one (1) year of leasing/office experience and knowledge of government subsidy programs; specific experience with GRH, Tax Credit and HMIS preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and detail oriented.
- Ability to work with diverse and/or low income populations, including those who may be experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, and/or mental illness required.
