WAGE RANGE: $119,000-$139,000/annually
JOB SUMMARY: Catholic Charities is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated leader who is compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally aware to lead its Children & Family Services Program as a Senior Division Director.
The Senior Division Director, in collaboration with the Chief Program Officer, is responsible for the overall coordination and effective operation of their division. This includes responsibility for the division budget, personnel selection, training, and on-going supervision.
The Senior Division Director will have oversight of our programs in early childhood, children’s mental health, and youth and family homelessness services, including:
- Homelessness Diversion Program
- Family Housing Crisis Response
- Family Service Center
- Hope Street Youth Shelter
- Northside Child Development Center
- Wilder Day Treatment Program
The Senior Division Director, in conjunction with Program Managers, ensures quality programming through development, on-going evaluation, and program revisions. They are familiar with and actively monitor relevant accreditation, rules, regulation, and laws in their division.
The Senior Division Director works closely with shared services leaders to ensure agency alignment relevant to their area, along with, legal and other compliance, collaborates in the development of other intra-agency relationships to ensure the effective delivery of division services and the effective operation of the agency. They are responsible for the planning and development of quality programming for the division and coordinates and manages the contracts and associated relationship with various government and/or private funders and maintains relationships with community stakeholders.
They will participate in relevant external community groups to represent Catholic Charities as appropriate and promote a positive, equitable and welcoming environment for clients and employees in their division.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Strategic
- Keeps informed of developing trends in the community relating to specific needs and services and recommends program response to those needs.
- Advocates and promotes services with the Board, Advisory Committees, other Catholic Charities leaders, government entities and the community at large.
- Develops and recommends new programs, sunsets current programs and review, modifies, and maintains existing programs within the guidelines of the strategic plan, the annual budget and operating plan, as well as the mission of Catholic Charities.
- With the assistance of program management, develops and refines policies and procedures.
Program Administration
- Oversees and directs all program operations of the division.
- Collaborates with shared services in matters of budget, legal and compliance, accounting, facilities, Human Resources, and employee development.
- In coordination with the Development Team, maintains relationships with multiple funding sources, such as government entities and United Way, assuring that funding proposals and reports are prepared in a thorough and timely manner.
- Assures division compliance with any relevant accreditation, licensing rules and regulations, addressing in a timely manner any correction orders, and being a proactive partner with the licensing and regulatory bodies to anticipate changes and possible problems before they occur, when possible.
- Leads or participates as a member on project teams responsible for the rehabilitation of current facilities and/or development of new sites.
Supervision
- Provides direct supervision to management staff of assigned programs and services.
- Convenes divisional staff and management staff on a regular basis to assure effective communication within the Division and the agency.
- Provides for the employment, assignment, evaluation and performance management of Division staff and volunteers.
Community Relations
- Participates in national, regional, and local activites and conferences as necessary to carry out the duties of the position.
- Collaborates and networks with community partners and stakeholders as necessary to achieve the mission and goals of the agency.
- Responsible for reviewing and ensuring the relevance, accuracy, and timeliness of data and reporting for purposes of accountability and client outcomes.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERTISE:
- Master’s degree in social work or other related area.
- LICSW/LMFT/LPCC or LP licensure in Minnesota strongly preferred or the ability to obtain Minnesota licensure within six (6) months of employment.
- Ten (10) years relevant experience in a nonprofit organization, with five (5) years at senior management level.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Experience in program development, planning and evaluation, budget management, proposal development, and working with Board or Advisory committees.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Responsibility is 24 hours a day/7 day a week, 365 days a year, so must have the flexibility and willingness to be available during non-business hours for consultation and in the case of emergencies.
- Ability to work with diverse and/or low-income populations, including those who may be experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, and/or mental illness required.
