Billing Analyst

WAGE RANGE: $24.10-$28.10/hourly
JOB SUMMARY: Catholic Charities seeks a solution-orientated analytical individual who is compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally aware to join us as a Billing Analyst.
The Billing Analyst is responsible for multiple types of billings for the organization including housing/property billing and behavioral/mental health billing. They are also responsible for voucher payments, remittance requests, authorizations, accounts receivable reviews, payable reviews, collections, aging, and receivables reports to present to program leaders monthly. Additional billings and reports may be added as dictated by program needs. This position will also be responsible for resolving any billing issues that may arise.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare and submit electronic insurance claims, paper invoices and other billing forms to all funding sources.
- Ensure timeliness of claims billings.
- Ensure the timeliness of applicable reports for AR and Month end.
- Investigate and resolve billing and payment issues with appropriate payer(s).
- Verify client insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Prepare monthly AR reports for program staff.
- Respond to general AR needs from other departments.
- Focus on problem solving and finding solutions with billing roadblocks
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary experience preferred.
- 3 or more years of billing experience in behavioral health or similar.
- Proficient in using MS office products, Excel, Word etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, funders, and other agency personnel.
- Has the ability to work with diverse and/or low-income populations, including those who may be experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, and/or mental illness.
