As the Domestic Violence Advocate, you will play a pivotal role in individuals' lives, making a significant impact through: Â
- Responsible for calls received during office hours and walk-in clients. Â
- Complete an intake form with each client that includes an assessment of needed supports and services, available resources, and a service plan for implementation. Â
- Provide referrals and linkages to other community agencies as appropriate.Â
- Provide advocacy for victims applying for other services to live violence and abuse free.
- Accompany clients to court, to the police station, to DSS and to doctors as deemed necessary.
- Assist with finding safe housing for clients, and supportive counseling.
- Assist clients with understanding their rights and with completing any associated paperwork.
- Maintain accurate and complete case notes.

Domestic Violence Advocate Minimum Salary: $Â 18.00
Â
Domestic Violence Advocate Maximum Salary: $Â 20.00
Â
Domestic Violence Advocate Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00-4:00 (35 hours per week)

Qualifications: Â
- VALID NYS Driver's License
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate's Degree preferred
- 1 year working with a diverse population
