What are the responsibilities and job description for the Respite Specialist position at Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany?
Connunity Maternity Services is seeking two (2) part-time, benefits eligible Respite Specialist to work 25 hours per week in our Respite Program. This program provides Respite services to families and children with mental health and/or behavioral special needs. Services are provided throughout Albany County, both in -home and in the community.
During the school year, Respite services are provided on a scheduled basis during after-school/evening hours and on weekends. During the summer and on school breaks, services may be during day-time hours.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a High School Diplma/GED. An Associate's Degree in Human Services/Early Childhood or a related field is preferred;
- Experience working with children with mental health or behavioral challenges;
- A valid NYS driver's license;
- A car in good working order;
- Ability to be trained and subsequently implement Therapeutic Crisis Intervention strategies; and
- Ability to walk up and down stairs as necessary; lift up to 40 lbs.; demonstrate a full range of motion and be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
