As the Student Assistance Prevention Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in individuals' lives, making a significant impact through:
- Responsible for all of the prevention and intervention activities at designated sites as well as operating the intervention part of the program. This includes providing any substance abuse and gambling prevention through evidence-based curriculum to youth and/ or families in schools or community locations.
- Provide problem gambling prevention and substance abuse prevention presentations to various community groups.
- Actively participates in various appropriate community organizations, and other district wide responsibilities that may present themselves as appropriate.
- Assists students in evaluation social-emotional behavior and planning for positive change and assists students with educational planning and evaluation of progress toward educational goals.
- Assists in helping students in the school to make desirable personal adjustments with self and others.
- Collaborate with other agencies or community groups or coalitions to utilize prevention services approaches including: education, environmental strategies, positive alternatives, and informational dissemination to youth and adults to assist in addressing community-wide prevention need
Student Assistance Prevention Specialist Minimum Salary: $22.00
Student Assistance Prevention Specialist Maximum Salary: $23.00
Student Assistance Prevention Specialist Schedule: 7:30 - 3:00 or 8:00 - 3:30 depending on day and location
This is a school based position
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field
- CCP or CPS CASAS credential preferred or working towards certification
- 1-3 years of experience working with youth and presentations
- Valid driver's license, proof of current car insurance and registration and access to a reliable, working vehicle
