Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, this support position will be responsible to performing tasks such as repairs and cleaning of the facilities. This position will also be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment, building systems, and ensure facilities are tidy and functional.
Responsibilities:
Assisting the Maintenance and Custodial Manager in performing minor fixes and repairs
Conduct general maintenance repairs and tasks
- Follow safe work practices and guidelines
- Perform basic shop arithmetic
- Maintain facilities, shop, and storage sites in a clean and orderly condition
- Secure facilities, equipment, and property as needed
- Performs a wide variety of prevention maintenance, repairs and services
- Operate, maintain, and repair a variety of hand and power tools and equipment in a safe manner
- Respond to Maintenance request in a prompt and courteous manner
- Pick up yard waste, pull weeds, and debris
- Shoveling snow
- Lifting heavy items
- Moving furniture
- Perform other duties as assigned
Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks as needed
- Ensuring spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces
- Sweeping, mopping floors, and vacuuming carpets
- Wipe mirrors and windows
- Maintain outer premises
- Clean entrances
- General landscaping
- Perform other duties as assigned
Security Responsibilities
- Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors, and the premises
- Protecting company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment
- Observing for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances
- Back up security as needed to patrol randomly or regularly the building and its perimeter
- Report any suspicious incidents
- Escort staff to their vehicle when needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Job Requirements:

Physical Requirements:
This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving items or performing other work sometimes requiring heavy physical exertion, talking, and hearing on a regular basis to perform the job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 90% of the time.
Non-Physical Requirements:
Education
- High School Diploma preferred but not required or General Equivalency diploma (GED)
Experience
- 1 years’ experience in related maintenance
- Equivalent combination of education or experience sufficient to successfully perform essential duties

- Exceptional customer service
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Ability to understand both verbal and written instructions
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with basic handyman practices
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness
- Willingness to work indoors and outdoors as required during all seasons

- Ability to read Technical manuals and drawings
- Basic computer skills
Licensure, Registration, Certification
- Valid Washington State drives license and required minimum liability insurance for WA State
- Must be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities insurance liability provider
Employment is conditional upon:
- Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required
Salary : $17 - $17
