Job Summary
The Child Welfare Specialist provides supportive services to cases under the direction of the Supervisor in the Child Welfare Program at Catholic Charities West Michigan.
This role transports children and biological parents to necessary appointments and visits, supervises visits, and documents notes. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to manage multiple tasks, and work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold the confidentiality of clients served
- Collaborate with FC Specialists and supervisors to schedule visits
- Transport children and/or families in the Child Welfare Program
- Complete transportation logs
- Supervise visits for biological parents and children in the Child Welfare Program
- Attend case review meetings, Family Team Meetings, and case conferences
- Transport client case paperwork to court
- Follow all expectations as written in Catholic Charities West Michigan transportation policy
Requirements
- Ability to transport clients within a large geographic area
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours
- Ability to manage and organize schedules
- Efficient time management and multi-tasking skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
