2025-2026 Mathematics Teacher: Archbishop Hoban High School

Position: 2025-2026 Full-Time Mathematics Teacher Position Description: Archbishop Hoban High School is seeking a full-time Mathematics teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This position includes instruction of courses that align with school standards in a modified block schedule format. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire for creating an inclusive and positive classroom environment, actively engaging students in learning and encouraging a high level of academic achievement. We are a private Catholic high school in the heart of east Akron and rooted in the Holy Cross tradition. Position Responsibilities: • Create authentic assessments that consistently provide sound practice and feedback, resulting in student growth and development. • Incorporate various modes of technology into lesson plans and classroom activities. • Experience with or are open to a variety of instructional methods and techniques to meet course objectives. • Encourage a classroom culture of mutual respect and build positive relationships with students. • Evaluate student academic needs and report student progress as scheduled. • Communicate with parents and/or guardians in a timely manner regarding student progress. • Ensure compliance with all school policies, procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe and productive environment for students. • Participate in school-wide events such as open houses, meet the teacher night and conferences. • Effective communication, problem-solving and time management skills. • Maintain the confidentiality of privileged information.

Position Qualifications: • Valid Ohio high school teaching license. • Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree. • Ability to work with school technology (use of academic software, Google, etc.). • Appropriate criminal records check by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and Federal Bureau of Investigation. Have attended or are willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training.
