Essential Job Functions:
- Understand and witness the school and diocesan mission.
- Assist students in understanding and applying executive functioning strategies, including goal-setting, task management, and self-regulation.
- Monitor student progress through observations and one-on-one meetings providing instructive feedback to enhance learning.
- Work closely with staff to create a supportive environment that fosters student growth and addresses individual challenges.
- Recommend tools, resources, and techniques that students can utilize to improve their executive functioning skills.
- Provide ongoing support to students by helping them develop a positive mindset and resilience as they navigate their academic responsibilities.
- Provide faculty and staff with supportive interventions to better serve their neurodiverse students.
- Provide staff with education regarding their students’ behavioral, social-emotional, and executive functioning needs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, intervention specialists, and aides to provide comprehensive interventions and practices for neurodiverse students.
- Provide training and support to aides working with students needing more intensive support.
- Analyze classroom procedures to identify where students may struggle, assisting teachers with support as needed.
- Work closely with administration and classroom teachers to determine appropriate behavior management strategies.
- Collaborate with intervention teams to create personalized intervention plans and monitor progress.
Qualifications:
- Commitment to the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church and to best practices in Catholic education.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Intensive, or Related Field (Master’s preferred)
- Energy and enthusiasm for working with and developing students for success in high
school and beyond
- Familiarity with Google Workspace for Education
- Successful BCI and FBI background checks and VIRTUS certified or willing to be certified.
