BASIC FUNCTIONS: The Director of Business Operations is an administrator in support of the Pastor’s responsibilities to the parish. As such the Director of Business Operations is a steward of the physical, financial, operational and personnel resources of the parish. Specific responsibilities shown below.
REPORTS TO: Pastor DIRECT REPORTS: Office Manager, Facilities Manager, Communications Manager and Bookkeeper
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Responsible for the day to day successful operation of the parish office and physical plant. - Maintains contacts with and supervises the Facilities Manager, Office Manager, Bookkeeper and Communications Manager. - Implements and administers financial and HR best practices consistent with employment law and diocesan financial policies and procedures. - Prepare the parish budget, annual reports, interim reports for the Pastor, Principal and Finance Councils. - Ensures an adequate and proper Internal Control environment exists. - Monitors operating budget of parish, reporting any potentially large variances to Pastor. - Responsible for parish operational and financial records including their archival in accordance with Diocesan guidelines. - Sets the IT direction in concert with the IT Advisor Group. - Coordinates the IT resources needed to support the parish. - Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive church matters and personal information of members. - Collaborate with other church staff members and volunteers to support various ministries and initiatives. - Attends weekly and monthly staff meetings and is responsible for planning and facilitating meeting when assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS - Strong commitment to the values, teachings, mission and ministry of the Catholic Church, the mission of St. Ladislas parish, and the Diocese of Cleveland. - Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, systems or relevant program. Post-secondary education and experience or certification may be considered in lieu of a degree. - Three years of administrative leadership or management experience. Experience in a non-profit or church setting preferred. - Ability to apply and exercise good judgment and safety standards. - Possesses the ability to work well with limited supervision. - Must be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks at one time. - Ability to manage daily operations on a scale consistent with the parish. - Excellent organizational and time management skills. - Proficiency in using office software, such as Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent. - Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
Salary : $71,600 - $90,600
