Theology Teacher - Benedictine High School Benedictine High School is seeking a qualified candidate to join its Theology Department for the 2025-26 school year. We are looking for a candidate who will support Benedictine’s mission of shaping a diverse group of young men into leaders. As an institution, we believe in the Benedictine tradition of ora et labora (prayer and work), in letting students lead, and in guiding our students toward becoming Men of Benedictine. About Benedictine High School Benedictine is the “Home of Champions,” and we challenge our students to grow physically, intellectually, and spiritually in preparation for success in higher education and in life. In the Benedictine tradition of community life, we encourage our students to learn to grow in mutual respect of differences in background and culture.

Theology Teacher Position

The Theology teacher is responsible for preparing the students academically for a successful college career. The teacher assists in creating a school culture of high academic standards among faculty and students. S/he encourages an expectation of life-long learning evidenced by continually improving learning experiences. Teachers at Benedictine participate in curriculum development and provide the associated instruction and assessment for students to which they are assigned. They focus on student growth and achievement through planning and execution of instruction, using collaboration with colleagues and the school leadership team. They are an active part of the community as they can moderate clubs and attend events and contests. These outcomes are achieved through the following responsibilities: Diversify instructional practices that are tailored to individual student needs, meeting them where they are and growing them academically through differentiation of instruction and assessments. Form students in the tradition and Rule of St. Benedict. Help our students form a deep relationship with God. The most important gift we can give them while at Benedictine. Develop and execute standards-based curriculum within the school’s educational philosophy. Use student performance data derived from teacher-created and standardized assessments to develop and execute differentiated curriculum, instruction, and individualized learning plans to meet individual student needs. Provide needed behavioral and academic intervention for students directly and by utilizing the resources of administration, the counseling department, supervisors and colleagues. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and that follows the behavioral guidelines of the school. Proactively develop a positive relationship with student families for the purpose of creating support for students and their education. Participate in professional development activities to continually improve teacher skills. Is proficient with classroom technology to enhance student engagement and learning, including digital resources and interactive platforms.

The ideal candidate will have the follow qualifications: Has experience teaching Theology Has a deep appreciation for Benedictine High School’s mission and a genuine love for working with students, understanding both the rewards and challenges of the role. Open to feedback and growth Believes that we are better together and collaborates with teachers and administrative staff to solve problems as well as with working with families to engage them as partners in forming their sons into Men of Benedictine Has a strong personal and practical faith Has demonstrated the ability to achieve academic progress of students with the use of differentiated instruction methods Is proficient with classroom technology for student learning Has a valid Ohio Teachers License or is pursuing a Resident Educator License
