General Position Summary :
The Coordinator Community Engagement is accountable for the development, coordination, and support of St. Philip community service activities, missions, and community engagement activities. Responsible for recruiting, developing and managing volunteers, as well as maintaining relationships with community partners to ensure successful initiatives. Accountable for the efficient and effective communication of activities through multiple channels.
Principal Accountabilities :
- Coordinate ongoing parish-wide service projects, such as monthly lunch program, Mission Day and Neighbor Days.
- Focal point for annual Giving Tree Program ensuring the coordination of volunteer activity working with Catholic Charities, St. Vincent de Paul, other area charities and parishioners in need.
- Provide ongoing monitoring of partnerships with community organizations to ensure consistency with Catholic teachings. Strategically plan one-time service events with community partners.
- Accountable for proper communication of activity through weekly bulletin, social media and parish website.
- Act as liaison with parish service ministries, including, but not limited to St. Vincent de Paul, Haitian Pilgrims, Christ Child Society, and Women of St. Philip.
- Responsible for maintaining a consistent and predictable office presence and availability for walk-in and appointment visits.
- Foster mutually responsive relationships with parish staff and the parish community. Assist with parish events such as Meet & Greet, Parish Festival, periodic weekend Mass hospitality, St. Philip Day celebration, etc.
- Learns from mistakes, demonstrates good judgement, and chooses effective leadership styles which foster comradery, respect, accountability, discipline, discipleship, healthy conflict management, and a can-do spirit in accordance with the Catholic faith.
- Responsible for all other projects, tasks, etc., as assigned.
