POSITION TITLE : Case Aide, Unaccompanied Children (UC) Services Program
DEPARTMENT : Family Support Services
REPORTS TO : Lead Case Manager for TFC
CGSs Unaccompanied Children Services Program serves children / youth presenting a range of challenging behaviors, especially those related to symptoms of trauma. The Programs services are provided by bilingual (Spanish / English) staff who receives specialized training in the special needs of refugee children. The program provides a safe, therapeutic environment in a family-like setting that addresses the requirements of each child / youth in a manner that is sensitive to his or her age; preserves cultural, ethnic and religious heritage; and meets dietary needs, native language, sexual orientation, gender identity, and other critical individual needs.
Responsibilities
The Case Aides responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :
- Will be transferred a case at the point the case manager received approval to release a child.
- Will be responsible to send the travel request and will contact sponsor, child and foster parent if applicable of the travel date and time
- Will be responsible to notify the sponsor of the travel cost and to make arrangements to collect the funds
- Conduct case management tasks as assigned
- Conduct the 30 day follow up call to sponsor and child and complete the ORR 30 day follow up form
- Review the entire file and prepare for closing
- Responsible to assure the children and sponsor are aware of any legal proceedings after release.
- Attend all trainings as requested
- Participate in ongoing training
- Perform other duties as requested
- Respond in a positive and respectful manner to diversity, among the agency's service population and staff
