About the Role

The Facilities Operations Director will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the maintenance, repair, and upgrade of all hospital buildings and grounds. This includes developing strategic goals and objectives for the department, establishing policies and procedures, and managing a team of staff engaged in building and equipment maintenance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing effective preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal facility performance


• Coordinating renovation projects, engineering, and maintenance activities to meet regulatory requirements and maintain a safe and healthy environment


• Preparing annual department budgets and monitoring expenses to ensure operational efficiency


• Leading and motivating staff to achieve exceptional results and promote a culture of excellence


• Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement energy-efficient solutions and reduce carbon emissions


• Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including OSHA and Joint Commission guidelines

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field


• Five years of experience in healthcare engineering and operations, with a proven track record of success in facilities management


• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills


• Knowledge of hospital systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and total building systems


• Experience with Auto-Cad and Microsoft Office Suite


• A strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction
