Job Description : OB anesthesia position at a high obstetric volume urban hospital with 3000 deliveries a year and a Level 3 NICU. Highly regarded training program for OB / GYN with 16 total OB / GYN residents, CNM, and attending physician in-house 24 / 7.
Responsibilities :
- Perform obstetric anesthesia coverage in-house during the specified hours, including epidurals, c-sections, patient assessments, and management.
- Assist with code calls in the hospital.
- Intubations and placement of invasive lines (A line, CVC) in the hospital when required.
- Proficiency in neuraxial anesthesia is a must.
- Cross-coverage with main OR possible if desired (medical direction of CRNAs or sitting own cases).
- Mix of vascular, GYN, general / colorectal surgery, orthopedics, ENT, urology, and some GI.
Licensing requirements : BC / BE anesthesiologist with a NYS medical license and DEA registration. MOCA for physicians with board certification after the year 2000.
Coverage : A two-week rotating shift that involves 6 weekday shifts (4 overnight and 2 during the day) and one weekend shift. The weekday shift will be 1900 hours to 0730 hours or 0700-1900 hours. The weekend shift will be 0730 hours to 0730 hours (24 hours). The schedule will be made 3 months in advance.
Salary / benefits : $550,000 a year with Trinity benefits, including 10 weeks’ vacation.
Signing bonus : $25,000 on signing, must remain 1 year in position, $15,000 at 18 months, $15,000 at 24 months, and $20,000 at 30 months for a total of $75,000 signing bonus.

400 epidural anesthetics performed annually : $10,000 bonus at each of the following marks : 400-425-450-475-500. For example, if the physician performs 425 epidurals in 12 months from the start date, they would be eligible for a $20,000 bonus.
